The timing of this event overlaps another event or two, what gives?

We believe that furry events should be an inclusive, safe space for people to express themselves, explore their identities and meet new friends who support them in doing so. Unfortunately, another event happening at this time revealed that it doesn’t share this same vision, and we felt like we needed to provide an alternative option for people looking forward to seeing their friends who were disappointed by that.

We aren’t in competition with this other event, but at the same time we believe that the community has always been about radical inclusion and safety for marginalized communities and want to endeavor to carry that vision forward and launch an event New Jersey really can be proud of.

If this event doesn’t sound like it’s for you, that’s okay! After signing our hotel contracts, we found out that our friend PawSouls is running a meet this weekend as well, and encourage you to consider attending it if that’s more your speed.

Who is running the event?

Currently, Furgeddaboutit is run by a board of organizers from groups all across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This includes Furrydelphia, The Furst State, Pinefurs, Anthro Outdoor Adventures, and Furgen County. Partly because this is short notice, and partly because we want this to truly be a community-led event, we don’t have a named convention chair for 2025. The board is working together as a team to put together the most fun event possible as fast as possible.

As you can see, the launch team is made up of experienced organizers from all around the tri-state area, but we’ll be handing the event off to a fully NJ-based team after we get it rolling.

What will this event be like? What will happen at it?

We're gonna be honest - this is going to be a weird con. But we like weird. Our goal is to create the single most fun weekend-long party the New Jersey furry community has ever seen, to bring together the best and most creative minds in the community, and to create some seriously good memories.

Like at most cons, you can expect:

• Some fun Guests of Honor chosen specifically to represent the beautiful Garden State!

• A charity, and events intended to help raise money for them

• A full programming schedule including indoor, panel-style activities and outdoor games and entertainment!

• Nightly dances with live DJs!

• A dealer’s den with lots of cool stuff to look at (and then buy!)

Are there plans to run the event in the future?

If it’s successful, then absolutely!

Because this event is hosted by Furrydelphia, Furrydelphia will take back its initial investment (registration and other fees), then set aside every last cent beyond that point for future Furgeddaboutit events.

After the event takes place, the organizers will transparently work to put in place a more formal board structure, elect a proper New Jersey-based convention chair, and set the event up for future success. New Jersey deserves a safe, inclusive, well-run furry convention, and we’re doing our best to make that a reality.

Our goal is to run a transparent, positive, safe convention that reflects the true spirit of the Garden State furry community.
